Does anyone have any advice with archers? They don't seem to target ANY enemies, especially if you move them towards the enemy. They could be standing right in front of them and they don't seem to "spot" the enemy. Maybe I'm missing something... very frustrating.

Edit: I just want to make sure I'm not missing something before filing a bug report.

Moving soldiers and archers will cause a delay upon arrival it in tended destination point. Think Robert mentioned something in the bug test about the delay in all unit reaction someplace in the 1.4 lists of tests as a normal reaction, in waiting for more commands or something like that.
The best way for me is to stop the soldier archer some distance before the approaching enemy so by the time the target is in range it will immediately detect and react.
All it need is about a second or two.

See... I tried doing that, even using the halt command to make sure they were a good distance from the enemy and still within sight range but the archers still just stood there with no reaction whatsoever. This continues to be the case after a number of seconds.

I do the same thing with infantry and they are fine; tracking and adjusting to combat the enemy. Just wondering if something needs to be adjusted.

Compare the numbers I wrote with the numbers on the image. When you select the pickaxe to be crafted check the middle block under "recipe 1" and the explanation there will tell you.

You have the picture in the op.
Another one that I used for my reference:
Ore colours.png
Ore colours.png (87.47 KiB) Viewed 349 times

Coal: dark grey
Tin: Slightly paler than the light rock variant
Copper: orange-ish
Iron: more redish
Silve: grey-blue
Gold: yellow

About the pickaxes:

Stone allows for copper
Copper allows for coal, copper and tin
Bronze and iron both allow for coal, copper, tin and iron
Steel allows everything.

Thanks TS and Moncho for the visual help on the ores, etc. It has helped; although it will still take me some time to be able to tell what they are at a quick glance.

Don't worry I have to look very careful every time to find some of them and then it has to be the right time of day.

regarding pickaxes, im sure I had a steel pickaxe & the miner wouldnt mine certain ores & was asking for the correct pickaxe, didnt think to save it as didnt realise it could have been a bug.
I'll try & have a look when home to see if it still is on the save.
